Its that time of year again. Get the feeders and game cams up, fix up the blinds and get out the chainsaw.
Hunting season is fast approaching. Hard to think about anything but dove hunting in this heat.
Had to overcome a couple of fires on the D6 this past weekend. With the dozer overheating a fire broke out in the engine compartment in a hard to get to place. I had to use all 6 water bottles out of my cooler to get it "put out". Since I was hesitant to crank it back up I had to walk a mile and a half back to the truck.
The next day I brought the air compressor with me to blow out the radiator and the fire started back up...only bigger. Apparently the oil/cedar in the compartment was still smoldering and the air fired it back up. This time it took a trashcan full of water to put out.
I now have a fire extinguisher mounted in the cab. Still have not got it moved to the no. 7 blind. Need to clear up some cedar trees around the feeder. I did manage to get the feeder going and get the game cam set up. Saw an awsome buck in the food plot in that area, maybe 26+ inches wide and I hope to get it on the camera. Will be posting the photos soon on the website.
